How To: Achieve Soft Lips Naturally

The winter months are harsh on our skin - with redness, dryness, dehydration and cracking all playing a part in the cold weather!

While it’s easier to add in extra hydration for your face and body around the winter time, our lips need extra hydration and moisture to keep them soft, plump and kissable.

Odylique Prebiotic CreamThere are a few, easy, natural tweaks and products you can use in your routine to achieve soft lips - it might even be as simple as swapping which lip balm you pop in your hand bag! So if this is a concern for you then read our top tips below.

First Things First - Make Sure To Hydrate!

Achieving soft lips starts with properly hydrating and moisturising your lips. Using a rich moisturiser, such as the Odylique Prebiotic Cream, helps promote collagen production in your lips - which not only makes them softer, but fuller (and plumper!) too.

Use A Balm To Protect Your Lips When You Go Out

During the winter months, cold weather can be too much for your lips! You need to make sure you take out a natural lip balm with you when you go out to keep your lips moisturised. https://suvarna.co.uk/collections/lip-balms/products/odylique-organic-vanilla-lip-silk

Using an organic shea butter based lip balm with ingredients like beeswax and coconut oil is packed with nourishing plant ingredients that not only hydrate, but moisturise your lips at the same time.

Odylique Lip Silk is a gorgeous example of this, and leaves your lips feeling super soft.

If you’re searching for a vegan alternative or beeswax free lip balm, the Vanilla Lip Silk is a perfect alternative - with a rich shea butter base, castor oil and sunflower seed oil.

If your lips don’t feel too dry but you’re concerned with the effects of the weather, locking in moisture with an oil based balm might work better for you! This is less heavy and will protect your skin’s natural moisture.
Benecos Natural Lip Balm
The Benecos Lip Balm is great for this, as it’s primary ingredient is olive oil; protecting your skin’s natural moisture barrier.

If your lips feel very cracked or dehydrated, using a much richer balm will help repair them. Using the Odylique Ultra Rich Balm once or twice a week as an overnight rich treatment on your lips will boost moisture.

Odylique’s Calendula Balm could also be used for lips that are very sensitive or chapped - Calendula is a great healer for the skin and used on areas of eczema and psoriasis aids to repair your skin.

Odylique Calendula BalmShould You Remove Dead Skin By Exfoliating?

So, if you’re concerned with achieving soft lips naturally, you might think about gently exfoliating your lips with an organic exfoliator.

As the skin on your lips is so delicate we suggest against exfoliating!

If you’re desperate to remove any especially dry skin from lips, you could use a very, very fine particle exfoliator; but don’t over exfoliate and avoid using a more coarse body exfoliator.

Add A Pop Of Colour Benecos Lip Glosses

Often if your lips are quite dry, it’s advisable to skip wearing make up in favour of lip balm. This is because chemical based make-up can be quite heavy, and drying on the skin - swapping instead to natural make-up can make a huge difference to lip health.

Using natural make-up, it’s still possible to achieve soft lips! We have a little guide below to our ranges, and how they can help lip health.

If you prefer a more natural look, or favour gloss over lip-stick, then the Benecos Lip Gloss range is perfect. It’s a light, hydrating gloss with a castor oil base, so it adds moisture to your lips as well as colour. There’s a range of shades, from a light nude Natural Glam to a rich red Kiss Me, so there is a shade to suit everyone.

If you want to enhance your lips’ natural shape, or help the appearance ofLavera Lip Liner plumpness, then using a lip pencil to outline your lips will do exactly that. Lavera’s lip liners are made with natural oils and waxes, so they are gentle on your skin, but are rich in pigment - so perfect for helping to define the shape of your lips.

Or, if you’re someone who prefers lipsticks, then we have a range of natural and organic lipsticks that will benefit you.

Odylique’s range of lipsticks are more sheer on your lips, and give a lovely glossy sheen of colour when applied. They are rich in organic ingredients, and leave lips feeling so soft and hydrated as well.

One bonus to using a sheer lip shade, is that if you’re someone struggling with dry lips, creases or chapping, then sheer lipsticks may also work better for you.

Odylique Lipsticks

Matte shades can stick to creases, or dry patches in our skin, highlighting them - whereas sheer lipsticks cover them without bringing unwanted attention! So not only will using these plant packed lip sticks help achieve soft lips; they’ll also make your lips look healthy!

With the Odylique range, there’s a wide variety of shades, from Marshmallow Pink to Blackberry Smoothie, so you can swap from a sweet, subtle daytime look for a more dramatic night time glam - without compromising on using hydrating, skin boosting ingredients.

Benecos Lipsticks
If you prefer a more matte look, the Benecos Lipsticks are a fantastic alternative, enriched with castor oil and beeswax.  These are a much stronger pigment, but not quite as hydrating as the Odylique lipsticks; so for those with drier skin or creases on your lips, it may be better to stick to a gloss or sheer colour!
