Suitable for colouring blonde to medium brown hair, or grey hair.

The Likely Colour Outcome on Different Initial Hair Colours

On white or very light blonde hair it may be a warm coppery auburn colour.

On medium to dark blonde hair it may be warm rich auburn colour.

On light to medium brown hair it may be a warm chestnut auburn colour.

Although we do our best to formulate this hair colour so that you get a good colour, we cannot guarantee the colour because everyone’s hair is different and will take the colour slightly differently.

There may also be slight variations in colour result between different batches of Herbal Hair Colour, due to the nature of the plant ingredients which are affected by varying climatic conditions from year to year.

To avoid an unexpected colour result we recommend you strand test a small section of your hair before applying It’s Pure Herbal Hair Colours to your entire head of hair.

Chemically lightened hair may react differently. If your hair has been chemically lightened with peroxide this will affect the colour result. It can make your hair more porous and thus absorb the colour in an unpredictable way. So it is especially important to strand test the bleached hair before putting it all over your hair.

Herbal Hair Colour Auburn Ingredients:

Lawsonia Inermis (Henna), Indigofera Tinctoria (Indigo), Emblica Officinalis (Amla), Acacia Concinna (Shikakai)

Superb result

Not used this pre mixed henna/indigo/ amla colour before having previously mixed the ingredients myself bought separately on suvarna.
I'm naturally dark brown with quite a lot of white/grey so colouring is a challenge. With pure henna the white becomes quite orangey copper even when mixed with lemon & left on 6+ hours. Results vary according to development time and seasonal temperatures since I don't have central heating. In these circimstances it's easy to get it wrong I've noticed. It always colours but the depth & intensity of the colour varies.
For that reason I started mixing with indigo and sometimes Amla in place of lemon juice.
The advantage of this pre mix is that it's already measured & mixed and doesn't require overnight development time. Mixing yourself with lemon requires you to do this and mix indigo and add in just before use. I wondered if the colour would be less intense because of this but it wasn't.
The result is more auburn than all previous henna applications (4 years). The distinction between the dark and coloured white is far more subtle and blended without being overall too dark as it was once when I used too high a proportion of indigo to henna (prob around 50/50). That after 8 hours ended up fairly dark brown all over. Fortunately it faded! But it took sometime (5-6 mths using only 100g henna & 50g indigo or less every couple of months).

This time there was a substantial amount of white roots and faded orange as well as the dark original colour - a task that would phase most hairdressers and most colours. The result is natural looking dark auburn brown with natural looking rich auburn highlights on the grey/white.

I started using henna 4 years ago when I couldn't get a good result with conventional colour box or salon unless I went dark which always got darker. After 3 years at aveda salon travelling 40 miles every 5 wks, I was darker than when I'd started and I'd said at the start I wanted to go lighter because of the striking 'white' root regrowth. I stripped it with decolour and started colouring myself with copper/auburns but got orange greys and dark non greys. My hair is fine and wavey, prone to frizz (serious frizz, particularly top greys) and it was trashed, thin, almost transparent and breaking.

I switched to henna because of this and researched for weeks types/sources/mixing/ techniques/ reviews etc. Suvarna henna had best reviews/results.

My hair is now longer than its EVER been, better condition than its ever been, thick and glossy. I use good quality natural soap to wash it no more than once a week usually (by that I mean soap made of natural plant oils and nothing else). I don't use conditioner or chemicals. The transformation is astounding. My hair is straighter and less frizzy (hardly at all) too.

It's henna but not as we know it...
Saturday, 13 January 2018  |  Abigail

I used to use henna on my hair in my teens, back in the 80's, it was a hideous experience involving lemons, wooden spoons and looking like Arnie in the film Predator for several hours, it was a lumpy, smelly trial, but not anymore.
It turns out that henna was often bulked out with sand and other stuff so when my first little kit arrived, complete with hat and gloves and a double wrapped bag of fine powder I was astonished. Having started to go grey in my twenties my hair had been numerous colours over the years but most recently a very dark brown, my roots however are white, not a good look. I went for the premix auburn and mixed the entire box, which was actually too much for my fine but mid back length hair. Having been advised by YouTube to go for a yogurt consistency I was delighted to discover that Pure henna can be applied with a tinting brush pretty much as easily as a generic chemical dye. Popped the hat on, followed by a wooly hat and several hours of gardening, in the shower, a rinse, a shampoo and condition and I was good to go. There was a subtle grassy smell that lingered for a day or two but nothing drastic. The result was stunning, a gorgeous shiny dark red brown head of hair with beautiful copper highlights from the grey, it was also much thicker, and became more vibrant after a second wash in two days. Now I use Pure on my roots every 8 weeks and one box is enough for 3 touch ups so it's a total bargain. I try to leave it for 4 hours for really deep colour, 2 hours for a more gingery highlight. Love it, give it a go.

Grey Coverage
Tuesday, 28 March 2017  |  Grace

Thanks to Suvarna, the product is 100% chemical free and easy to apply. My grey hair looks like I have had highlights done. I apply first to the roots and then randomly for the rest of the hair. Thank you again. I would recommend this product any time.

pure organics auburn

I was very pleased with the way colour worked on my hair. My roots are dark brown and grey and my ends are quite dark from lots of colouring. I applied the mix for 1 and half hours and the results was an equalising of colours with a natural red hue. I will be ordering some more and can probably get away with using less than a full packet for my shoulder length hair.

I'm allergic to every chemical hair dye on the market so have been searching for this for a long time. A little messy but worth the effort.
