I have been using the 'Very dark brown' hair dye for about a year on my thick afro textured hair, and I love it. It's much easier to use than the traditional henna/indigo application mix and the results are much the same. If you want your hair to continue getting darker-black colour over time, use the dye on your whole head every application. I only use it on my new growth now which is grey/brown and it gives me a deep brown colour with medium brown highlights(on my greys).
I will always continue to use this product and recommend it to anyone looking for a natural alternative to chemical hair dyes. Thank you for making this product available.
I've been using this for a few years but i seem to be doing it twice a month because of my grey,do these hair dyes contain metalic salts as I want to have highlights because I can go an extra dew more weeks before dying it again,I have checked and it says not so I don't need to strip the henna out do i
It is not recommended to bleach hair after this product.

Easy to use and effective

I just wanted to cover grey strands amongst my black hair, not change my overall hair colour. I have never used henna dye or any hair colourant before. Instructions for mixing the powder were easy to follow as was application, gloves and plastic cap are provided in the pack. I left the mixture on my hair for 4 hours. My greys were covered, not a very dark brown colour but reddish, which gave my hair a highlighted effect. The rest of my hair being black did not change of course, I am happy with the result for a first use. I understand that continued use may increase the depth of dark brown colour on my greys, and if I want I can then use a black henna dye to get it all black, as the advice is that if you use black as a first step you will probably turn grey or white hairs blue due to the high indigo content in black henna, so I needed to use the very dark brown initially. I will see and possibly update later.
Being unable to use conventional hair dyes due to allergy/sensitivity, this product is a god send. This covers grey well and the colour result is lovely as it’s tonal depending on the colour of each strand of hair to begin with. Yes it is a pain to have to keep it on for 4 hours each time you do it (about every 5 weeks), and it has quite an unusual smell, but that’s a small price to pay in my opinion. Delivery on this was quick and the price good.
I have been using normal dye without ammonia for years. I then developed a reaction to PPD. I was very upset as I tried other products that said they were natural and were not!! I then came across this product it is excellent have not had no itchiness on scalp. I do have to keep it on for 4 hours to get the best result. The very dark brown does cover my greys. It does take a bit getting use to but worth the effort!!
Thought I'd try the dark brown on my sisters hair as she is having treatment at the mo and can't use chemical colourants. Put it on the roots disappointing coverage. And a horrid green tinge. Never in my 40 yrs hairdressing have I come across this. Not at all impressed.
Oh dear, don't worry, the green tinge should go gradually over a day or two as it oxidises (as it says in the instructions). The darker colours have a higher indigo content and this is what gives a risk of it having green tinge at first, but indigo doesnt stay green. Even if the green didnt go then you could always put another herbal colour on top with more red/henna in it. Generally for stronger grey coverage you leave the paste on for a longer time or do a 2nd application. You would not normally have this experience with chemical dyes as they work differently and are more controllable.

I've been using this product for some time due to an allergic reaction to normal hair coulrants. I have to use the product twice to get the darker shade, but I'm very grey. It can be a bit time consuming, but the end result is worth it.
