After having waited 90 minutes for the hair dye to work, my grays weren't covered! Perhaps I didn't make the formula correctly but can't be bothered to try it again. Can't fault it being a natural formula though.
purchased this as allergic to chemical dye, didn't think it was working but when time elapsed noticed my grey hair wasn't grey anymore but light brown. I wil lcertainly be using this product again, easy to wash out a lot easier I think than chemical dye
I wanted a change from Logona nougat brown cream which colours my grey nicely to a lovely pale blonde.
The Aubrey Dark Brown worked very well, darker than expected which meant that my grey fringe blended in more with my natural very dark brown hair at the back of my head.
Feeling adventurous, I then decided to try Logona Indian Summer cream, but didn't like the red shade, so covered it Manic Panic Purple Haze (vegetable based vegan dye) expecting plum highlights. Ended up with bright purple in a block of colour, no shade variations at all. Looked like a fright wig! So, finished off with the Aubrey Dark Brown again and now I have plum highlights and well conditioned hair.
No way could I have done all that experimentation in a week with hair colours which weren't gentle. My hair is short, so I was able to get 3 applications out of one Aubrey pack, so very good value. Easy to mix and apply, and very effective. I used a hair dryer for 10 mins, and left mixture on hair for 3 hours. Would definitely recommend. And don't be afraid to experiment
I really like this! I was using the Sante Nut brown previously which was very nice but didn't tint my 50% grey hair as much as I'd have liked. This covers the grey a lot more effectively if left on for the full two hours with my grey hairs going a lighter brown with a gold tint to them, the rest a rich kind of nut brown. It gives a really natural effect and blends in the grey with the rest of hair very nicely. It smells a bit funky when you put it on (not horrible though) but I can live with that!
Tried Aubrey Organics in Dark Brown to cover some grey hair for the first time. Would normally go to hairdressers, but this time around wanted to try something more natural. By the way I have Afro hair. Read the mixed reviews but was still willing to give it ago. Instructions were easy to follow. Mixing and applying was definitely not as messy as I had thought. Left in for 2 hrs and applied hear for 15 mins. Results were good, the grey is definitely but as prominent as before, they've gone a light brown. Will be applying again in a weeks time just to the light brown areas to see if I can get them even darker. Thank you Tricia for your help and replying to my queries so promptly. Will definitely buy again and again. If would be nice if I could colour in a plum colour.
I have been using this dye for a year now and am very pleased with the results. It gives a very natural looking result which lasts a long time, especially after a few uses. It is a real dark brown, not the normal reddy brown I have got from other products. It is a long process and a bit messy but for the result and for the lack of chemicals I think it is worth it. It seems to work better if you use a pre cleaning mask beforehand. I last used this 2 months ago and it stills looks good.
So, I spent £15 (with postage) on this, spent over four hours (with strand test) and my hair is exactly the same shade as it was before - a boring medium brown.
I followed the instructions to the letter, persisted with the absolutely vile stench and what for? I'm deeply disappointed by the lack of colour and very irritated by the horrific smell lingering in my medium brown hair even with 2 shampoos and a conditioner rinse. I would not recommend this to anyone.
