Aromatherapy Books

Aromatherapy An A - Z
The most comprehensive guide to aromatherapy ever published

By Patricia Davis

This is the most up-to-date encyclopaedia of aromatherapy available today, with over 400 entries covering more than 200 conditions, and 82 essential oils. It explains the properties of essential oils and the health conditions that benefit from them. There is also advice on hazardous oils. There are recipes and formulae for baths, creams and tonics. All the entries are comprehensive, fluently written and provide an easy-to-understand introduction to a wide range of topics. 'The simple fact that the a-z has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide since it was first published speaks for itself. It has earned and kept its place amongst the handful of indispensable reference books on aromatherapy ...this book has been justly subtitled 'the aromatherapist's Bible' - Aromatherapy Quarterly. '...one of the most thoroughly researched books written on aromatherapy' - The International Journal of Aromatherapy

The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy
Over 600 natural, non-toxic and fragrant recipies tocreate health, beauty and a safe home.

By Valerie Ann Worwood

First sentence of the book:
YOU DO NOT NEED to have worked with essential oils on a daily basis over many years to come to the realization that nature has provided mankind with a tremendously powerful and diverse materia medica.

Most aromatherapy books focus mainly on the properties of essential oils. Any good aromatherapist already knows them. so a book that doesn't 'specialize' in what any good aromatherapist already knows is very useful. This book focuses more on the applications that an aromatherapist would require, and the fact that is is sectioned or grouped into areas of compatibility is useful for the aromatherapist who needs quick referencing. The section on occupational oils is very interesting as that is the area many people are struggling with in today's hectic society. The 'recipes' recommended are solid and not only a very good base for the budding aromatherapist but also an exciting new arena to venture into for the more experienced aromatherapist.
